✅ Who is Eligible (JNVST Class IX Admission 2026–27)

Candidate must be a bonafide resident of the district where admission is sought.

Must be studying in Class VIII (session 2025–26) in a Govt./Govt. recognized school of the same district.

District of residence and district of study (Class VIII) must be the same.

Date of Birth should be between 1st May 2011 to 31st July 2013 (both days inclusive).

Only Indian Nationals studying in Class VIII in India are eligible.

NVS may refer a candidate to a medical board for age verification, if required.
Who is Not Eligible
-
Students who have already passed Class VIII in earlier sessions.

Candidates whose Date of Birth is not between 1st May 2011 and 31st July 2013.

Candidates whose residence district and study district (Class VIII) are different.

Students of non-recognized / private unrecognized schools.

Candidates who already applied for lateral entry test in the previous academic session.
🎯 Reservation Policy

SC/ST/OBC/Divyang seats are reserved as per NVS rules.
-
OBC candidates must belong to the Central OBC List; others should apply as General.
-
If suitable candidates are not available in reserved categories, seats will be filled as per NVS criteria.
🌍 Rural vs. Urban Candidates

Students studying Class VIII in a rural school will be considered under the Rural Quota.

Students studying even a single day in an urban school will be treated as Urban Candidates.

Urban areas are those notified by Govt.; all others are considered rural.
